Julien Escude is a French footballer who currently plays for Beşiktaş on a position of a defender.
He started to play football in a youth team of Pau FC. From 1997 to 1998 Escude played for Cannes reserve before signing his first professional contract. Julien played 21 matches with 1 goal in the season of 1998/99 in France’s second division. Owing to that his club finished 5th in the League 2. The following 4 years were spent with Rennes.
He signed for Ajax in 2003 and appeared in 31 games through the season 2003/04 becoming the champion of the Netherlands. He scored 5 goals in 28 games with his club making it to runner-up position and turned into the team’s captain by the end of the season.
In the season 2005/06 he managed to claim the Netherlands Super Cup but after a lost home game in 2005 he never started for Ajax. In 2006 the footballer moved to Sevilla to win the UEFA Cup just a few weeks later.
The same year he won the European Super Cup as his club beat Barcelona. The game finished in a 3-0 victory for Sevilla. The following season was even more successful for the defender – he obtained the Spanish Cup and the Super Cup, another UEFA Cup though lost the European Super Cup. At the end of that fruitful season the footballer and the club signed a new contract binding the parties till 2009. During the season 2007/08 he made 16 appearances and at the end of it he injured his inguinal rings. After the operation Escudé played only in three games of La Liga.
After a solid 164-match run with Sevilla the French back joined a Turkish side Beşiktaş.
