Junichi Inamoto is a Japanese midfielder currently playing for Kawasaki Frontale in the J. League Division 1. He was born on 18 September 1979 in Yusui, Japan.
The product of Gamba Osaka youth system, Junichi joined the first team of his feeder club in 1997. He shortly got a regular place in the starting eleven and made a total of 105 appearances for the team during a five-season spell. In 2002, Inamoto left for England where he signed for a prominent London side Fulham. He sparked furor during the 2002 UEFA Intertoto Cup final against Bologna as he scored three goals for his team and helped them to become the tournament winners.
In 2004, Inamoto signed for West Bromwich Albion. He also spent a season on loan at Cardiff City. In the 2006/07 season, the Japanese player moved to the Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray and then found himself at the German club Eintracht Frankfurt. In January 2010, Inamoto returned to Japan and joined Kawasaki Frontale in the J-League where he plays today.
