A French football player Karim Aït-Fana is a forward of French club Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1.
The footballer was born in Limoges so his career began at hometown club. Aged thirteen he was selected to attend the Centre de Formation de Châteauroux (a regional youth academy) which is as prestigious as the Clairefontaine academy. These academies are attended to receive extra training. On weekdays he trained at Châteauroux and on the weekends he played for his local club Limoges FC. After two years spent at the academy Karim joined Montpellier.
On 12 May 2006 on Ligue 2 final of the 2005/06 season Aït-Fana made his debut as a professional footballer. He appeared as a substitute at the end of the match against Le Havre being on the pitch only for 9 minutes. In the ensuing season his playing time grew to 13 matches. Besides during that season (on 27 April 2007) he scored his first goal in the match against Châteauroux. During the 2007/08 season the footballer’s role in the team greatly increased - he appeared in 37 matches. Yet he managed to kick only two goals. Furthermore both goals were scored during one and the same game - the final league match against FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin.
During the 2008/09 season he carried through a rather successful campaign. He managed to score 6 goals among which was his winning one against Guingamp at the end of the season right at the height of the battle.
It is due to his successful season that the club extended the contract with the forward until 2012. In the last match of the 2011/2012 season Montpellier played against Lille OSC and Aït-Fana scored the only goal just after coming on the pitch in the last minute of the match.
