Kosta Barbarouses is a professional forward from New Zealand born on 19 February 1990 in Wellington. He currently plays for the Greek side Panathinaikos.
Kosta spent his youth career at such hometown clubs as Miramar Rangers and Wellington Olympic. In 2005, he signed his first professional contract with a prominent New Zealand club Team Wellington. In 2007, Barbarouses moved to Wellington Phoenix and recorded 2 goals in 21 matches for a three-year spell at the club.
In 2010/11 season, a young promising striker enjoyed much better fortune playing for Australian club Brisbane Roar. He made a total of 11 goals in 30 matches and pulled off the season as the A-League champion together with the club.
In 2011, Barbarouses moved to Alania Vladikavkaz from the Russian second division. He got off to a flying start in Russia scoring a sole goal in his debut 1-0 win over Torpedo Vladimir on 9 August 2011. In June 2012, the player was loaned to the Greek club Panathinaikos.
Kosta Barbarouses had a tremendous 2006/07 season scoring 16 goals in 19 international matches for the New Zealand U17 team. Since 2008, he is capped to the senior squad of the country.
