Lasse Nilsson is a forward who plays for Elfsborg. He was born on 3 January 1982 in Borlänge, Sweden.
In 2000 Lasse commenced his senior career at Brage. From 2000 to 2011 he scored 15 goals in 45 matches for the club. In 2002 Nilsson switched to Elfsborg, where he made 73 appearances and netted 16 goals. In January 2005 the footballer was transferred to the Dutch side Heerenveen. During his 2005-2007 stay at Heerenveen Nilsson scored 22 goals in 76 games.
In 2007 he switched to the French club Saint-Étienne. Lasse didn’t establish himself as a first-team regular at Saint-Étienne. Instead, he was loaned out to such clubs, as Aalborg, Elfsborg and Vitesse.
Following his half-a-year loan spell at Vitesse, the club’s management decided to make the move permanent. The footballer agreed to stay and signed a 3-year contract with the club in June 2009. From 2009 to 2011 Nilsson registered 38 appearances and scored 9 goals.
In 2011 the forward moved to Elfsborg. Since then Nilsson has featured in 57 matches and netted 17 goals. He is ever-present on the pitch and one of the key players at the Swedish club.
In 2002 Lasse Nilsson debuted for the Sweden U21 team. From 2002 to 2004 he made 10 appearances for the outfit, before being called up to the senior national team in 2004.
