Laurent Koscielny is a back of London side Arsenal. He was born on 10 September in Tulle, France.
The first club of the young back was Brive, which Laurent joined at the age of 12. Five years later Koscielny moved to Limoges and played a season for it.
Local Guingamp took an interest in Laurent when he was 18. There the footballer played as a right back, but he always wanted to play in the centre of defense and, probably, that is why Koscielny signed for Tours.
In 2008/2009 Laurent played as a midfielder, made 34 appearances and scored five goals. In the same season he was included in the nominal Ligue 2 Team of the Year.
On 16 June 2009, Laurent transferred to Ligue 1 side Lorient and signed a four-year contract.
In June 2010 there was information about Koscielny possible move to the English side Arsenal.
On 5 July, French newspaper Ouest-France reported Laurent trained with the youth and reserve teams of ‘The Gunners’. Two days later Arsenal confirmed Koscielny transferred to the team.
First, Laurent did not play for any national team. On 3 February 2011, he received a long-expected call-up to the France national team, but spent the whole match on the substitutes’ bench.
On 11 November 2011, the footballer made his start for ‘Les Tricolores’.
