Lee Chung-Yong is a winger of Bolton Wanderers. He was born on 2 July 1988 in Seoul, South Korea.
Lee started to play football in Dobong Middle School at the age of 11. The footballer’s talent drew the attention of FC Seoul scouts, and they offered him a move to their academy. Chung-Yong accepted the offer and began to get ready for a professional start. In 2004, he put pen to paper of a senior contract, but managed to come on the pitch only in 2006. The winger netted 11 goals in 54 matches for the club during three years and won the hearts of fans, who gave a ‘Double Dragon’ nickname to the player’s successful link-up with Ki Sung-Yong.
In the summer 2009, Lee penned a contract with English side Bolton Wanderers and fired 11 goals in 91 games for ‘The Trotters’ as of February 2013.
From 2005 till 2008, the footballer took part in 31 matches and scored seven goals for the South Korea national U-17, U-20 and U-23 squads. From 2010, he has been capped 42 times and contributed five goals for the senior national team.
