Leon Andreasen was born on 23 April 1983 in Aidt, Denmark.
He began playing football at a hometown club Hammel GF at the age of 10, which is considered late enough for a professional career. Nevertheless, Leon was always on the ball and soon developed his game impressively. In 1999, he moved to the youth side of AGF Aarhus and already in 2001 advanced to its senior level. With his scoring 17 goals in 105 games during his four-year spell at Aarhus, a promising young footballer sparked interest of the German giants SV Werder Bremen. Having a very impressive record among Danish footballers, Andreasen was signed by a top-flight Bundesliga club with the utmost pleasure and was deployed in every other match.
In order to reach a high standard, Leon Andreasen joined Mainz 05 on the 2006/07 season loan from SV Werder Bremen. At Mainz, a Danish midfielder became a regular of the first team and managed to score 4 goals in 15 games for the club. In the winter break on 2008, he joined English Premier League with Fulham FC, but in a year got back to the German Bundesliga, signing a contract with Hannover 96 until 2012. In his first season with the Reds, Andreasen appeared in 11 matches and also played in reserve several times. Beginning from 2010, he scored 3 goals in 18 appearances for Hannover’s first team.
Leon Andreasen earned his international cap in a friendly against Spain on 24 March 2007. He fired his maiden goal against Swedish national team on 2 June 2007. From then onwards, he had another 13 national appearances scoring 2 goals in total.
