Leonel Olímpio is a midfielder of Vitória Guimarães. He was born on 7 July 1982 in Jaguariaíva, Brazil.
In 2005 Olímpio signed his first professional agreement with União Barbarense where he played for a season. During this time he was used as a reserve player and occasionally got into the starting eleven. In 2006 Leonel penned a permanent contract with CRB where he took part in 4 games for a season.
In 2007 Olímpio joined América-RN where he spent half a season making only several appearances. In January 2008 the midfielder changed his club moving to Ituiutaba where he spent half a year before he was purchased by Gil Vicente. The 2008/2009 campaign in his new team was very successful for the midfielder because he appeared 28 times in the starting XI which was excellent in comparison with his previous results.
In the summer 2009 Olímpio moved to Paços de Ferreira on a two-year spell. During this period the Brazilian was the key player of the team where he featured in 57 matches and found the net 2 times. In 2011 the midfielder signed for Vitória Guimarães where he has already made more than 20 appearances.
