Lewis Buxton

Lewis Buxton is a defender of Sheffield Wednesday. He was born on 10 December 1983 in Newport, England.

In 2000, Lewis penned his first professional contract with Portsmouth and joined the main squad of the club, where he made 29 appearances before being sent on loan to Exeter City in 2002. The footballer took part in four fixtures for the team and sealed a temporary deal with Bournemouth, where he featured in 17 games during six months, but his spell was later extended for the 2003/2004 season. Buxton added another 26 appearances to his tally for ‘The Cherries’ and returned to his parent Portsmouth, but failed to clinch a regular place in the starting XI.

In 2004, the defender put pen to paper of a contract with Stoke City and fired one goal in 53 matches for ‘The Potters’ during four years. In 2008, Lewis went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday and took part in 15 fixtures for ‘The Owls’ during six months. However, the management of the club liked the footballer’s performance and secured his services on permanent basis.

In the summer 2009, Buxton officially became a part of the new team and found the net three times in 135 games for Sheffield as of February 2013.
