Li Zhe is a Chinese defender currently playing for the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F. He was born on 20 June 1981 in Shenyang, Liaoning, China.
Li is a product of his hometown side Liaoning Youth. In 2002, he embarked on his senior career signing the first professional contract with the clubs second team Huludao Whowin. In 2003, Li Zhe joined Nanjing Yoyo where his career really picked up steam. Overall, he made 166 appearances during an eight-year spell at the club. However, in the summer 2010, Nanjing Yoyo faced serious financial problems and the players even went on strike because of unpaid salaries. The situation caused further disbanding of the club and Li Zhe found himself at Guangzhou R&F ahead of the 2011 season. He was a prominent figure during the season helping the team to return to the Chinese Super League in the 2012 campaign.
