In 1999 the young striker received an offer to attend the academy of Lyon. The club is considered one of the best ones in France, thus Rémy decided to take the opportunity.
The professional career of the young striker started in 2006. Lyon’s management suggested him signing a professional contract that would have been the first in his career. Loïc Rémy accepted the offer and officially became a first team player at Lyon. He played only 12 matches during two seasons.

Rémy’s excellent performance made the leading clubs of France and Europe interested. Marseille FC appeared to be the first in this race paying €15 million for the striker. Loïc Rémy signed a five-year contract with Marseille. Rémy played as a lead striker occasionally changing forward lines with other footballers. Rémy appeared in 68 matches netting 27 goals in less than two years.
In January 2013 the Frenchman penned a contract with struggling English side Queens Park Rangers but did not prevent the club from being relegated. After that he was loaned to Newcastle United for the season 2013/2014.
