Luis Ernesto Pérez is a Mexican centre midfielder. He was born on 12 January 1981 in Mexico City. The footballer is a product of Necaxa’s youth academy. From 1999 to 2003 he featured for the main team of this club.
The second season in the Liga MX was a success for Pérez because he participated virtually in all the matches of his team. Moreover, he was named the Young Player of the Year.
From 2003 to 2012 the midfielder defended the colours of Monterrey. Pérez won the Mexican championship 3 times and the CONCACAF Champions’ League twice in a row. Luis Ernesto Pérez made 323 appearances for Monterrey overall and notched 50 goals. In 2012 the midfielder was offered to join Guadalajara.
Since 1998 Luis Ernesto Pérez has featured in more than 65 games for the Mexico national team. Pérez participated in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
