Luis Suárez Miramontes is a retired Spanish football player who was famous for his graceful style. His precise passing and strong shot earned him a nickname the Architect. He was awarded with Ballon d’Or.
His professional career started in Deportivo de La Coruña where he went through the ranks of the youth system, making his debut for the first team on 6 December 1953 in a 6-1 loss to Barcelona.
In 1955 the midfielder started his stint in Barcelona, helping the team to clinch La Liga and Copa del Generalísimo double in 1959 and a La Liga and Fairs Cup double.
The player continued his career in Internazionale in 1961 as his transfer from the Catalan side to the Italian giants became the most expensive in football world at that time. He was a pivotal player in the side and led the team to three Serie A titles, two consecutive European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups.
The playmaker led the Spanish national team to the European championship title.
