Lys Gomis is an Italian goalkeeper of Senegalese origin who plays for Torino F.C. His squad number is 23. Born to Senegalese parents, the keeper also holds an Italian passport. His brother Alfred also performs as a third-choice shot stopper for Torino and the Italy U-20 national team.
He was born on October 6, 1989 in Cuneo, Italy. Gomis started out in the youth set-up at Torino. Having punctuated his time in Italy with loan spells to SPAL and Casale, he returned to his native club and played a full 90 minutes in the winning match against AlbinoLeffe.
In 2013 he was sent on loan to Serie B side Ascoli.
Gomis is a richly promising goalie who provides a quality back-up for Jean-François Gillet.
