Magaye Gueye is a forward, born in Nogent-sur-Marne, France and has dual citizenship: French and Senegalese.
Gueye began his career in 2008 in the Strasbourg academy. On 3 November 2008, he made his official début for the main squad in the match against Lens, coming as a substitute. The forward’s first goal came in the first Coupe de la Ligue round of the 2009/2010 season, when Strasbourg played against Istres. Magaye scored 11 goals during that year.
After the end of the 2009/2010 season the French footballer transferred to English side Everton for £1 million. He made his début for ‘The Toffies’ on 25 August 2010, when the forward’s new team played against Huddersfield Town in one of the first legs of the League Cup.
Gueye’s English Premier League début came only half a year later, on 2 April 2011 in the match against Aston Villa. The French footballer substituted Séamus Coleman in the 52nd minute of the game.
Magaye’s first league goal came almost in a year after his first league appearance. On 9 April 2012, he chipped in a goal in the match against Sunderland and made two assists, which helped ‘The Toffees’ to win 4-0. However, that goal was the only in 17 games of the 2011/2012 Premier League. In 2013 he had a loan spell at Brest.
In the summer 2014 Gueye was released from The Toffees and later joined Millwall.
Gueye represented France at all international levels, except the senior one. In 2009 he made his international début in the France national U-21 team. The footballer made 27 appearances for all youth squads of ‘Les Tricolores’ and netted ten goals. In 2012 he was invited to the Senegal national U-23 team and played one game for it.
