Mahmoud Alaa is a central defender who plays for Haras El-Hodood. He was born on 28 January 1991 in Egypt.
Mahmoud played for the junior team of Haras El-Hodood, before signing a professional deal with the side at the age of 18. From 2010 to 2012 the footballer registered 18 appearances for the club.
In 2012 Mahmoud Alaa was called up to the Egypt U23 outfit for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where the team reached the quarterfinals. On 15 August 2012 Alaa made his debut for the Egypt national team in a 1-1 draw against Oman.
