A Brazilian footballer Márcio Gonzaga de Azevedo plays as a defender for Metalist Kharkiv. He was born on 5 February 1986 in Guarabira.
Márcio’s the product of the youth system of Juventude, where his junior career passed. In 2004, the defender got an opportunity to start his senior career, after the pro contract with the club had been penned. The footballer gained his first title playing for the team in the 2007 Campeonato do Interior Gaúcho. He remained with the senior team until 2008, when he was scouted by Fortaleza. He had a brief spell at the club, but managed to become the champion of the 2008 Campeonato Cearense.
In 2008, Azevedo was hired by far more famous club - Atlético Paranaense. The defender managed a fabulous season with the squad, winning the 2009 Campeonato Paranaense. In total, he appeared 88 times for the team. In 2010, the footballer had to spend about 5 months in the sidelines, nursing an injury. After returning to the field, Azevedo joined Botafogo, where he continued to play until being sold to Metalist Kharkiv in 2013.
