Marco Borriello is a striker of AS Roma. He was born on 18 June 1982 in Naples, Italy.
Marco started his professional career in 2000 when he signed the first contract with AC Milan. The Italian didn’t manage to become a part of starting eleven and therefore he was loaned to Triestina and then to Treviso in 2001.
In 2003 Borriello was loaned to Empoli and managed to take part in 11 fixtures of the team and found the net twice.
Since 2004 to 2006 the player was loaned to Reggina, Sampdoria and Treviso respectively. All in all he played 61 matches and scored 8 times during that period. In 2007 Marco put pen to paper of a contract with Genoa and spent a tremendous 2007/08 season there firing in 19 goals in 35 fixtures.
In 2008 AC Milan decided to return their player and penned a two-year contract with Marco. The Italian managed to play 38 fixtures and hammered 17 goals.
In 2010 Borriello moved to Roma and become one of the club’s anchor players taking part in 41 matches and scoring 11 goals.
In the winter 2012 the striker was loaned to Juventus and played 10 fixtures scoring two goals for bianconeri. In the summer 2012 the Italian was loaned to Genoa.
In the second half of 2013/2014 season Borriello played on loan at West Ham United.
Since 2001 to 2003 Marco had taken part in 12 matches of Italy U-21 national team and amassed eight goals. From 2008 to 2011 Borriello was capped seven times for the Italian national team.
