Marco Donadel

Marco Donadel is a halfback of Napoli. He was born on 21 April 1983 in Conegliano, Italy.

Marco’s youth career started in 2001 after he had graduated from A.C. Milan youth academy and advanced to Rossoneri first team. There was no place in the starting lineup for the young player and the coaching staff decided to send Donadel on loan for him to stay in good shape.

In 2002 Marco Donadel joined Lecce. During the 2002/03 season Marco featured in 29 games for the club.

In 2003 Marco continued his career as a loaned player at Parma. During a year at the Crusaders Donadel was frequently included in the starting lineup which helped him to keep the shape and earn more playing experience which is crucial for a rookie footballer. In the 2003/04 season Marco Donadel played 24 matches for Parma.

In 2004 Milan once again sent Marco on loan to Sampdoria where for half a season Donadel made 8 appearances.

In January 2005 Marco continued his career at Fiorentina. Despite the fact that most of his professional career Marco spent playing on loan his temporary clubs were all very prestigious in Italian Serie A. Donadel made 14 appearances for Fiorentina in half a season but still managed to attract the club management enough to receive a permanent contract offer. Marco considered it as a breakthrough in his career since the previous 4 years he had been a loaned player. Marco signed for Fiorentina and represented the club for 6 years. Donadel became a key halfback as the head coach made him a regular starter. For 6 seasons with Fiorentina first squad Marco made 170 appearances and netted 4 goals.

In 2011 S.S.C. Napoli made an official request for acquiring Marco Donadel from Fiorentina. In the summer of 2011 Marco’s contract with Fiorentina expired and Napoli strengthened their roster with a very experienced midfielder. However, Donadel could not make it to the starting squad and in 2013 was loaned to Hellas Verona.

From 1999 to 2006 Marco Donadel played for various Italian youth teams with 58 caps and 3 goals.
