Marcos Pizzelli was born on October 3, 1984 in Piracicaba, Brazil.
Marcos was groomed at the youth system of São Carlos Futebol Clube in between 2000 and 2005. In 2006, he joined the first team of Ararat Yerevan. With this club the footballer managed to become the Armenian Premier League top goalscorer twice: in 2007 with 22 goals and in 2008 with 17. He was an instrumental player during the 2007/08 season as he helped Ararat to finish as a runner-up in the Armenian Premier League and become the Armenian Cup winner in 2008. All in all Pizzelli featured in 79 games and netted 44 goals for the club for two seasons. In 2008, he was to move to the French minor league side of ASOA Issy on loan. In the summer 2009, the forward joined Pyunik Yerevan on a free transfer. With the squad he became a two-time Armenian Premier League champion in 2009 and 2010, twice lifted the Armenian Cup in these very seasons and, besides, became the Armenian top goalscorer for the third time with his 16 goals in 2010.
In 2011 the player transferred to Metalurh Donetsk, where he scored in his very first Ukrainian Premier League match against FC Chornomorets Odesa, his goal remaining the only in that game. In Metalurh Pizzelli often featured as an attacking midfielder and sometimes as a centre half, and the change of position alongside with the difference in the levels of championships couldn’t but have an impact on his effectiveness: in the Ukrainian club Marcos scored 4 goals in 18 Ukrainian Premier League games.
In January 2012 Marcos signed for FC Kuban Krasnodar and on March 18, 2012 scored his first goal for the new club, putting the ball into the net of FC Rubin Kazan.
In 2013 Pizzelli switched across the city to the rivals FC Krasnodar.
In January 2014 the midfielder moved to a Kazakh outfit Aktobe.
As an international player Marcos Pizzelli represents Armenia. On May 28, 2008 Marcos made his debut for the Armenia national football team in a match against Moldova marking the debut with an opener. On February 29, 2012 he made a brace in a friendly match against the Canada national squad.
