Mariano Barbosa is an Argentine goalkeeper currently playing for Las Palmas in the Spanish Segunda División. He was born on 27 July 1984 in Lanús, Argentina.
Mariano embarked on his professional career at Banfield in 2002. In 2005, he moved to Spain where he joined Villarreal CF in La Liga. In the 2007/08 season, Barbosa joined another top-flight side Recreativo de Huelva but played only in 4 Copa del Rey matches. In the 2008/09 season, the Argentine returned to his motherland and featured Estudiantes and River Plate there. In the 2009/10 campaign, he played 28 matches for Atlas in the Mexican top flight. After that, Barbosa found himself in Spain again where he signed for Las Palmas and plays as a first-choice keeper for the team today.
In 2003, Mariano Barbosa earned two international caps to the Argentina U20 team.
