Marko Meerits is a goalkeeper of Vitesse. He was born on 26 April 1992 in Tallinn, Estonia.
In 2008 Marko’s professional career took off in FC Flora Tallinn, from where he moved to farm club FC Warrior Valga and made two sub appearances. Soon Meerits joined Flora Tallinn II and featured in 29 matches for the team. In 2010 the footballer clinched the place of a third-choice goalkeeper in the main squad and took part in the match against FC Levadia Tallinn, where he saved two penalties and earned a regular place between the posts.
On 6 July 2011, Marko penned a three-year contract with Dutch side Vitesse. On 7 August the same year, Meerits was sent on loan to ADO Den Haag and managed to keep a clean sheet in his début game for the temporary team.
From 2008 till 2011, the footballer was capped 27 times for the Estonia national U-17, U-18 and U-19 teams. From 2010, the keeper has taken part in nine matches for the U-21 squad. In 2010 Marko received his first call-up to the full national team.
