Mauro Rosales is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder for Seattle Sounders in MLS.
Mauro embarked on his professional career at Newell's Old Boys in 1999. For a five-year stint at the club, he scored 30 goals in 119 appearances. The string of constantly good club performances sparked interest of top-flight European sides in Rosales. Thus, in 2004, he was signed by the Dutch heavyweights Ajax. For a two-year stint, the Argentine midfielder appeared in 63 league matches and helped the team to win the Dutch Cup in 2006. The next stage of Mauro’s career was joining the Argentine giants River Plate and winning the 2008 Clausura tournament with them. In March 2011, the player moved to Seattle Sounders. During his debut season with the American side, Rosales assisted on 13 goals setting up a club record for number of assists by a single player in a single season.
At the international level, Mauro Rosales played for the Argentina U-20 tea which won the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship. He featured for the Argentina senior side in the 2004 Summer Olympics which brought the golden medal to his country.
