Mevlüt Erdinç plays in the striker position for Stade Rennais FC. He was born on 25 February 1987 in Saint-Claude (France).
The player started his youth career in 2003 at Sochaux football academy where he played until 2005.
In 2005 the striker received an offer from native Sochaux to sign a contract. Mevlüt was glad to the opportunity to move to French professional football and to perform in Ligue 1. He represented the club until 2009 making 79 appearances and scoring 24 goals.
In 2009 Erdinç earned a call-up from Parisian club PSG. He agreed to sign a contract with the club on favourable terms. The striker joined the club on a four-year deal for €9 million. According to the contract he had to play for Parisian club until January 2012. In two and a half years the player netted 24 goals in 76 matches.
In 2012 Rennes expressed willingness to buy out the striker from PSG. Consequently Rennes paid for the player €7.5 million and the player signed a three-year contract. Mevlüt started to play for the club immediately after the transfer and scored another 3 goals in the first matches.
From 2004 till 2007 Erdinç represented Turkish national football team at U-19 and U-21 levels appearing in 25 matches and scoring 5 goals. Since 2008 he has been Turkey international and has already netted 1 goal in over 14 matches.
