Micah Richards is a right back of Manchester City. He was born on 24 June 1988 in Birmingham, England.
Micah began his youth career in 2000, when he started training at the Oldham Athletic academy. He had been a trainee for a year. In 2001 the young back drew attention of Manchester City scouts and they offered him to show his skills in the club. After that demonstration, Richards was invited to the Manchester City youth academy. He accepted the invitation and was a trainee of the new team from 2001 till 2005.
In 2005 Micah’s youth career ended with him being asked to join the first team. It meant Richards would sign the first professional contract and officially become a player of Manchester City. Micah made his debut in the first season, occasionally playing in the first team or chosen as a substitute. During seven years Micah Richards has performed for the club, he made 170 appearances as a right back and scored seven goals. Nowadays Micah continues his successful career in Manchester City, being the key right back and a vice-captain.
From 2003 till 2010 Micah was capped for the England national U-16, U-19 and U-21 football teams. He played 19 games and netted three goals. From 2006 Micah took part in 13 matches of the England national team and scored once.
Micah was selected for the Great Britain Olympic squad to play at the 2012 games in London.
