Michael Rensing is a German goalkeeper currently playing for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the German 2 Bundesliga. He was born on 14 May 1984 in Lingen, Germany.
Michael started out his career with Bayern Munich youth team in 2000. In 2002, he joined the reserve squad of the club and proved decisive in the German Regionalliga. Overall, Rensing made 114 appearances for Bayern Munich II until 2007. In February 2004 he played entire 90 minutes in his debut Bundesliga game against Hamburg. However, Rensing didn’t manage to establish himself as a first-choice keeper at Bayern amassing only 53 Bundesliga matches in between 2004 and 2010.
In the 2011/12 season, he joined FC Köln and shortly became the pillar of the team. Michael was even voted the third best keeper in Germany by Kicker sports magazine. In the summer 2012, Rensing signed for Bayer 04 Leverkusen and one year later for Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Michael Rensing earned 18 caps to the Germany U21 team in between 2004 and 2006.
