A Spanish footballer Miguel Ángel Tena García acts as a central defender for CD Lugo. Miguel was born on 17 January 1982 in Almassora, Castellón.
In 1993, Miguel entered the academy of Castellón and his junior career started off. For four seasons, the defender went through almost all the “ranks” in the Castellón youth system. He used to be an integral part of the junior side. In 1997, Ángel Tena was scouted by Valencia, where he was groomed during the following four years. He finished his formation by 2001, when he was chosen for the B side of Valencia. The defender played for the reserves until 2003, totaling 36 appearances. In 2003, García was bought out by Villarreal.
The 2003/2004 season was spent defending the reserves. In 2004, the defender was promoted to the main eleven of Villarreal. Miguel made his single appearance for the squad and was loaned to Racing Ferrol. The temporary deal turned to be very useful for the player, as he got lots of playing practice and managed to improve his game. Altogether, he appeared 39 times and produced one goal. In 2005, a three-year deal was finalized with Poli Ejido. Ángel Tena became an integral part of the squad, amassing 6 goals in 89 matches.
After exceptional performance, the defender transferred to Levante, where the 2008/2009 season was spent. García finished the spell with five goals from 19 appearances. In 2008, a move to Elche happened. Miguel appeared 22 times for the squad. In 2010, the footballer was bought out by Córdoba. He remained at the club until 2013, producing four goals in 59 matches. In 2013, Ángel Tena was snapped by Lugo.
