Miguel Britos is a defender for Napoli. He was born on 17 July 1985 in Maldonado, Uruguay.
Miguel’s professional career started in 2005 after graduating from Centro Atlético Fénix youth academy, joining the club’s first team and signing his first professional contract. During his debut 2005/06 season Miguel made 12 appearances.
In 2006 Britos received a lot of offers from the Latin American clubs. Juventud’s offer was the most attractive and Miguel signed for the Uruguayan club in the summer of 2006. Britos played for Juventud during one season totaling 1 goal in 16 appearances.
In 2007 Miguel Britos moved to Uruguayan Primera División Montevideo Wanderers after signing his third professional contract. The Bohemios’ head coach put Miguel in the starting lineup quite often and Britos ended up with 26 matches and 1 goal during the 2007/08 season at Montevideo.
In 2008 Miguel attracted attention of not only Latin American but European clubs as well. Italian Serie A Bologna negotiated with Montevideo Wanderers on Britos’ transfer terms and in the summer of 2008 Miguel Britos officially joined Bologna F.C. The young Uruguayan defender played with the club’s first team for 3 seasons with a total of 70 appearances and 4 goals.
In January 2011 Miguel Britos was signed by Napoli on a 5-year contract where he started with 4 matches and netted 1 goal during the 2011/12 season.
