Mikel González Martínez is a Spanish footballer and he is a current Real Sociedad’s player. He plays as a central defender.
He started his youth playing career in Real Sociedad and then went on playing for Real Sociedad’s reserve team. González made his professional debut in September 2005, when the team suffered a 2-5 loss against RCD Mallorca.
Real Sociedad was in the second division and at that period Mikel became a regular starter. He appeared in 35 games in the 2009/10 season, after what the team returned back to the top division. In that season he scored one goal in a 3-1 win over Villarreal B.
During the 2010/11 La Liga campaign he earned 32 caps, in 30 games he was a starter, but he failed out of favor, because in January 2011 the club signed Vadim Demidov and Iñigo Martínez.
