Nadir Çiftçi is a forward of Dundee United. He was born on 12 February 1992 in The Hague, Netherlands. Nadir has Turkish origin.
At the age of 15, the footballer moved to English side Portsmouth for £80,000 and started to gain his first experience. In June 2010, Çiftçi penned a professional contract with the club and managed to make his début on 7 August 2010 in the match against Coventry City, after the pre-season tour in the USA. Nadir used the opportunity to clinch the place of a regular and got to the starting line-up of the squad.
On 9 August 2010, the forward netted his first goal in the game versus Stevenage. After the management of Portsmouth secured Liam Lawrence’s services, Çiftçi started to lack playing practice, which resulted in his refusing to put pen to paper of an extension. The footballer decided to move to Kayserispor, where he made 11 appearances during the 2011/2012 season. In 2012, Nadir transferred to Eredivisie side NAC Breda and one season later to Dundee United.
The forward’s international career took off in the Netherlands national U-17 team, where he featured in 12 games. Soon after, Çiftçi expressed his wish to represent Turkey and joined the Turkey national U-19 squad. In 2010, the player received a call-up to the senior national team.
