Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is a winger of Peterborough United. He was born on 15 April 1992 in Birmingham, England.
In 2009, Nathaniel put pen to paper of a professional contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers and started to train with the main squad of the club. The winger got a chance to raise the level of his skills due to learning from his more experienced and football-wise teammates, which helped him to become a candidate for a place in the starting line-up. However, in the summer 2010, Mendez-Laing went on loan to Peterborough United in order to get more playing practice.
At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season, the footballer gained the manager’s confidence and began to make occasional sub appearances. Nathaniel netted five goals in 33 games for ‘The Posh’ during one year and returned to his parent Wolverhampton Wanderers, but sealed a temporary deal with Sheffield United after only one month with ‘The Wolves’. He fired one goal in eight matches for ‘The Blades’ during six months and went back to his parent club, but failed to take part in any fixtures for Wolverhampton by 2012.
In the summer 2012, Mendez-Laing transferred to Peterborough United, but was sent on loan to Portsmouth at once, where he made eight appearances during three months.
In 2008, the footballer was capped nine times for the England national U-16 and U-17 squads.
