Nicholas Robert Shorey is a footballer from England, born in Romford in 1981. He began his professional playing career at Leyton Orient and in February 2001 he joined Reading. He extended his contract with the club in August 2006. At the end of the 2007/08 season Reading faced relegation and Shorey penned a three-year contract with Aston Villa on 7 August 2008. His debut there was in the UEFA Cup match against FH Hafnarfjordur, which ended in a 4-1 win.
In November 2009 Shorey was loaned to Nottingham Forest, in January 2010 returned to Aston Villa and in February 2010 was loaned to Fulham until the end of the season.
In August 2010 he moved to West Bromwich Albion, penning a two-year deal. He made his debut for the side on 21 August 2010, that game was a 1-0 victory over t Sunderland. In July 2012 Shorey re-joined Reading.
However, just one season later Shorey made a move to Bristol City. In January 2014 Shorey switched for Portsmouth.
In 2007 he earned two caps for the England national team. His first international match was against Brazil and the second one was a 1-2 loss at Germany.
