Nicolás Spolli is a central defender for Catania. He was born on 20 February, 1983 in Coronel Bogado, Argentina.
Nicolás started his youth career at Argentine top club Newell’s Old Boys. For many years Nicolás not only trained at the academy, but also took part in youth championships.
In 2005 Spolli joined the first team of the club. He shortly established himself as a skillful player and became a regular in the starting lineup. During a four-year spell, Nicolás Spolli made a total of 107 matches and 9 goals for Newell’s Old Boys.
In 2009 Nicolás moved to Italy to play for Serie A side Catania, with which he penned a long-term deal. Spolli shortly proved his worth in the starting lineup. In his debut 2009/10 season, he made 26 Serie A appearances helping his team to finish 12th in that season. Since 2009 Nicolás Spolli made 82 appearances and netted 3 goals for Catania as of September 2012.
