A Portuguese footballer Nuno Filipe Oliveira dos Santos plays for Paços de Ferreira as a forward. He was born on 19 June 1980 in Matosinhos.
His junior career started in 1992, when Nuno entered the academy of Valenciano, where he spent two years. Before he was ready to perform at the senior level, Santos had studied at the youth departments of various clubs, such as Ribeira Pena, Vitória Guimarães, Pevidém, Vitória Guimarães and Vizela. He graduated from the academy of Vizela in 1999 and started his professional career.
His first pro contract was signed with Serzedelo, where he spent a season. In 2000, his performance was noticed by the scouts from Oliveira Bairro. But he didn’t spend much time with the club, as he was won over Oliveira Hospital. Nuno made occasional appearances, both as the team’s starter and as a substitute player.
In the summer 2002, a move to Torreense happened. Over the course of a season, Santos made 33 appearances and scored 8 goals for the squad. In 2003, the forward’s contract was bought out by Académico Viseu, where he appeared 5 times during half a year. In January 2004, a transfer to Oliveirense was made. He spent the rest of the 2003/2004 season with the club, making 29 appearances and scoring 7 goals.
In the summer 2004, a year contract was penned with Varzim. Santos netted 2 goals in 24 matches for the team. The following year, the footballer was welcomed back to Oliveirense. He fit in the team perfectly, scoring 18 goals in 72 matches during the spell.
In the summer 2008, Nuno signed a two-year contract with Santa Clara. He managed to get the place in the starting XI and gain the coach’s confidence. In total, Santos made 58 appearances and scored 12 goals for the team. In the summer 2010, the forward was scouted by Paços de Ferreira. The footballer continues to play for the club up till now.
