Papiss Demba Cissé is a striker of Newcastle United. He was born on 3 June 1985 in Dakar, Senegal.
The Senegalese footballer began his career in Douanes Dakar. In 2005 he signed a contract with FC Metz. On 29 July 2005, Papiss took part in the Ligue 1 match against Paris Saint-Germain and that was his last game for the new club. The following season the player was sent on loan to AS Cherbourg Football.
In the summer 2006 the Senegalese footballer returned to Metz, which got relegated to Ligue 2 by that time, and helped his club to return to Ligue 1.
Cissé ended the 2007/2008 season in Châteauroux on loan and spent the following season and a half in his parent Metz.
In 2009 Papiss was capped for the Senegal national team.
In January 2010 Cissé moved to German side SC Freiburg and spent two years there till January 2012, when he signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Newcastle United F.C.
Papiss’s scored the winner on February 5 in a victory over Aston Villa and that was his first goal for ‘The Magpies’.
