Paul Andrew Dixon is a left back of Huddersfield Town. He was born on 22 November 1986 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Paul’s youth career took off in the academy of Monifieth Athletic in 1994, when the footballer passed all the necessary tests and joined the junior squad. In 1999, Dixon drew the attention of Dundee scouts and completed a move to the youth system of the new club in the summer the same year. On 31 May 2005, the back put pen to paper of his first professional contract and officially joined the main team of ‘The Dee’, where he was given a chance to make his league début on 6 August the same year in the match against St. Mirren. By the middle of the 2006/2007 season, Paul became one of the pivots of the club and attracted the attention of various English teams after making impressive performance in 92 fixtures for Dundee during three years.
In 2008, the footballer sealed a deal with Dundee United and clinched a regular place in the starting line-up at once. Dixon’s stellar display in his first season with the new club earned him the Fans' Young Player of the Year award. He made 121 appearances and kicked four goals for ‘The Terrors’ during four years.
On 27 June 2012, the back signed for English side Huddersfield Town on a free transfer and featured in 24 matches for ‘The Terriers’ as of February 2013.
In 2007, Paul took part in two games for the Scotland national U-21 squad. From 2012, he has been capped three times for the full national team.
