Képler Laveran known under the nickname ‘Pepe’ was born on February 26, 1983 in a small town of Maceió, Portugal. Currently, he is a defender of Real Madrid C.F.
Képler Laveran began playing for C.S. Marítimo when 18 years old when he came from Brazil to Portugal. For the first three years he was on Anatoliy Byshovets’ youth team where he played on different positions: as a forward, defender and attacking midfielder. Képler Laveran played in this football club up till 2004.
On December 12, 2009, when Képler already played for Real Madrid C.F. in a match versus Valencia the footballer got a knee injury and had to leave football for six months. On December 17 the footballer had a surgery.
On May 30, 2010, the medical staff of the Portugal national team announced Képler had completely recovered. Thanks to this the footballer took part in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as well as won Copa del Rey in the 2010/2011 season.
July 12, 2011 was marked by the player signing contract extension with Real Madrid C.F. up till 2016.
