A Spanish footballer José Díaz Sánchez, aka Pepe Díaz, acts as a striker for Real Oviedo. José was born on 20 April 1980 in Almodóvar del Río, Córdoba.
In 1998, Pepe Díaz became an official player of Pozoblanco. His very first season was lined with several appearances made. Very soon, the striker was noticed by Novelda. From 1999 to 2001, the footballer was increasingly used as a sub. Nevertheless, he received enough playing time to improve his game and to keep himself in good shape. The stint was lined with two goals racked up in 30 matches.
In 2001, Pepe joined Córdoba B, but he made no appearances for the club and was bought out by Cartagonova. He finished the spell with three balls from 24 appearances. In 2003, the striker transferred to Écija, where the 2003/2004 season was spent. Díaz made 24 appearances and moved to Guadalajara.
The 2005/2006 season would find the striker defending the colors of Baza. The stint was lined with 12 goals produced in 34 matches. In 2006, Pepe took a decision to rejoin the former club Écija. A transfer turned to be a real success. The footballer very quickly established himself as a regular member of the first team and maintained his dominant striker position at the club until 2008. Altogether, he appeared 68 times and amassed 30 goals.
In 2008, a deal was finalized with Córdoba. That time Díaz joined the club’s main squad. Very soon he became an integral part of the starting line-up. Altogether, the striker made 124 appearances and racked up 28 goals. In 2013, Pepe became an official member of Oviedo.
