A Brazilian footballer Rafael Marques Mariano was born on 27 May 1983.
Being born in São Paulo, Rafael’s initial stage in his career passed at the local clubs. He defended such clubs as Campinas, Ponte Preta, Palmeiras and Inter de Limeira. In 2005, the striker was scouted by Marília, where he spent a fruitful year, making 25 appearances and netting 8 goals. The next season would find Mariano playing for Samsunspor. He made 66 appearances for the Turkish side and moved to Manisaspor in 2006. Whilst performing for the team, Marques got the Turkish citizenship and adopted name Rafet El Marques. He’s expected to perform at the international level for the Turkish national squad.
In 2009, the footballer moved to Japan, where he represented Omiya Ardija. In 2012, Rafael signed a contract with Botafogo. At the beginning of 2014 Marques joined a Chinese side Henan Jianye.
