A Swedish footballer Rasmus Lindgren plays as a defensive midfielder for FC Groningen. Rasmus was born on 29 November 1984 in Landskrona.
Lindgren started his career at the local club Landskrona BolS. In 2003, the young player was scouted by AFC Ajax from The Netherlands. The midfielder worked his way through the ranks in the club, starting off with the junior squad before graduating to the top team. In 2005, Rasmus made his senior debut in a match against NAC Breda. He made another three appearances for Ajax and moved to FC Groningen. Lindgren became the squad’s anchor player and displayed a brilliant performance during the total 2.5 year stay at the club.
Such a success renewed the interest of the former employer Ajax. The deal to bring back the midfielder to Netherlands was finalized during the January transfer window in 2008. Rasmus stayed at Ajax until the summer 2011, netting 6 goals in 54 appearances. On 20 June 2011, Lindgren was bought by Red Bull Salzburg. In 2011, together with the new squad, he won Australian Cup and Australian Champion. In 2013, the footballer rejoined FC Groningen.
Rasmus Lindgren made nine appearances for the Sweden U-21 team. His international debut took place on 19 November 2008, in a match against the Netherlands. He also appeared two times for the Sweden full side.
