René Klingenburg is a German midfielder currently playing for Bundesliga side Schalke 04. He was born on 29 December 1993 in Oberhausen, Germany.

René began his youth career in the youth system of Duisburg. In 2010, he joined Schalke 04 youth team and in the 2012/13 season, Klingenburg was promoted to represent their reserve squad. In the same campaign, the midfielder was shortlisted into the first team of the club.
