Riccardo Montolivo was born on 18 January 1985 in Caravaggio, Italy. He plays for the Italian national team and AC Milan.
Riccardo’s career started in Serie B club Atalanta B.C. In 2003, at the age of 18, he played his debut match. He made 41 appearances and netted 4 goals, helping his club to make it to Serie A.
In 2005, Montolivo transferred to Fiorentina. During the debut 2005/06 season Montolivo's chances to get into the starting lineup were dim, despite his excellent performance in Atalanta. Nevertheless, in 2006 he became a regular in Fiorentina and turned into the team leader.
In 2007 Riccardo Montolivo was named the best player in Serie A. In 2012 Montolivo decided to join A.C. Milan due to Fiorentina’s overall poor performance.
Montolivo will stay at the club until 2016, for €2.5 million a season.
