Roberto Fernández. Biography

Roberto Fernández Alvarellos, commonly known as simply Roberto, is a Spanish goalkeeper currently playing for Granada in La Liga. He was born on 25 January 1979 in Chantada, Spain.

Roberto began his senior career at Celta de Vigo in 1997 playing for their reserve squad for five years. But his career really picked up steam in 2002 when he joined Sporting Gijón. Fernández shortly cemented his place as a first-choice keeper at the team and made a total of 197 appearances during a six-year spell. In 2008, Roberto switched to La Liga side Osasuna and in 2010 he found himself at Granada where he plays today.
