Rodney Sneijder is a midfielder of RKC Waalwijk. He was born on 31 March 1991 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Rodney’s career took off in a youth team, located in the footballer’s native city, from where he moved to Amsterdam and joined the academy of Ajax after impressing the club’s scouts in 1999. Several years later, Sneijder became one of the most talented trainees of the youth system, but despite his success, he managed to clinch a place in the main squad only by February 2011, when the midfielder penned a one-and-a-half-year contract. Rodney did not manage to make any appearances for Ajax, which entailed his move to native town.
On 20 August 2011, the footballer sealed a one-year deal with Utrecht. Sneijder’s professional début came on 27 August 2011 in the home 3-1 victory over Roda, where the player netted his first goal. Rodney took part in 23 fixtures and found the net three times for the club during his spell.
In July 2012, RKC Waalwijk secured Sneijder’s services on a two-year contract.
