
Rodrigo Defendi is a defender of Botafogo. He was born on 16 June 1986 in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.
The footballer’s professional career began in 2005 when Defendi penned a contract with Tottenham Hotspur. To play in the Premier League meant to be appreciated in the strongest football championship. Rodrigo was too young and inexperienced to appear in the starting eleven, so he failed to come on the pitch for half a year.
In January 2006 Defendi was sent on loan to Udinese where he spent half a year. During this period he made 2 appearances for the Italian team. In the summer 2006 Rodrigo joined the capital club Roma on a temporary basis. The defender spent half a year with his new team failing to come on the pitch.
In the summer 2007 Rodrigo Defendi signed for Avellino where he spent two years and a half. During this time Defendi featured in 16 games of the club being used mainly as a reserve player. In January 2010 Rodrigo returned to his homeland where he sealed a deal with Palmeiras. For some time he featured for its reserve team, and in January 2011 the footballer moved to Paraná where he played until the summer 2011.
In the summer 2011 Rodrigo Defendi signed a contract with the Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães where he played till 2013 before being sold to Brazilian side Botafogo.
