Roland Gigolayev is a Russian midfielder, born on 4 January, 1990 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
At the age of 12 Roland entered the football academy of Yunost Vladikavkaz. In 2007 Gigolayev was invited to play for the reserve team of Zenit St. Petersburg. In 2009, when Dick Advocaat was the head coach of the club, the footballer participated in friendlies against FC Helsingborg and Koppengagen, but couldn’t establish himself as a regular. In 2010, when Zenit was managed by Luciano Spalletti, Gigolaev was several times invited to the training sessions of the first team. In the early 2011 Gigolayev started to look for a new club. Eventually, he signed for Alania Vladikavkaz on a long-term contract. Roland debuted for Alania on 4 April in a game versus FC Torpedo Vladimir.
In the summer 2013 he switched for Dynamo St.Petersburg.
In the 2010/11 season Roland Gigolayev won two caps for Russia U-21.
