Rüştü Reçber is a former football player from Turkey. He was born in1973. Reçber was about to sign for Beşiktaş from Antalyaspor in 1993 but because of a car accident the goalkeeper failed to join them.
In 1993 he penned a deal with Fenerbahçe and shortly after that was sent to Antalyaspor on a loan deal. Reçber returned to Fenerbahçe after their first-choice keeper Engin İpekoğlu fell out with injury and replaced him. He played for the team until 2003 and then left for Barcelona. However his spell there wasn’t successful and he re-joined Fenerbahçe, where he played until 2007. Between 2007 and 2012 Reçber played for Beşiktaş and then retired.
He earned 120 caps for the Turkey national team and made his debut in 1994 in the match against Iceland. He was a part of the squad which reached the quarterfinals of UEFA Euro 2000. In 2002 they were third at FIFA World Cup 2002 and in Euro 2008 Turkey was semi-finalist. He retired from international duties in April 2012 after the match against Finland.
