Salvatore Aronica is a center back for Palermo. He was born on 20 January 1978 in Palermo, Italy.
Salvatore began his career at Bagheria. In 1996 Aronica signed for Juventus and featured in only 1 game (2-0 win against Sampdoria) during two seasons at Juve. The next stage of Salvatore’s career was Serie B Reggina that loaned him for half a season and used as a starter in mere 2 matches. In October 1998 Salvatore moved to Serie C Crotone and scored 1 goal in 107 appearances during 4 seasons, first as a loaned player and then as a regular.
In the 2002/03 season Salvatore Aronica played for Ascoli on loan. During the following 3 seasons the Italian defender played for Messina totaling 3 goals in 102 appearances.
On 1 September 2008 Napoli purchased Aronica for €2.7 million and signed him for 4 years. Two weeks later Salvatore made his debut for the club’s first team.
In July 2011 Bologna wanted to acquire Aronica but in January 2012 Napoli confirmed that they intend to extend the contract with the center back until June 2013.
After featuring 111 times for Napoli the center back moved to his home city to join Palermo.
On 27 May 2007 Salvatore Aronica was called the Honored Citizen of Reggio de Calabria.
