Scott Brown is a footballer from Scotland, born in 1985 in Dunfermline. He currently plays for Celtic as a midfielder. Brown came through the youth ranks of Hibernian and having graduated from the academy, in 2002 he signed a professional contract with Hibernian. His first team debut came in May 2003, it was a 3-1 victory over Aberdeen, and Scott marked his debut with three goals.
Throughout the 2003/04 season he was used regularly, Hibernian ended the season eighth and were League Cup finalists. In the 2004/05 season Brown picked up an injury and stayed aside for four months, he missed part of the following season due to an injury. The 2006/07 season he helped his side to win the Scottish League Cup.
Before the start of the 2007/08 season Brown joined Celtic for a fee of £4.4 million. On 5 August 2007 he debuted in a 0-0 draw against Kilmarnock and in ten days he featured in the UEFA Champions League match against Spartak Moscow, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In the end of his first season with the team they won the league title and in 2007 Brown was named SFWA Young Player of the Year. In 2009 Celtic won Scottish League Cup and in 2011/12 the team won the league title.
Brown represented Scotland at U19 and U21 levels and in November 2005 he earned his first cap for the senior team.
